Peace be upon you dear Brothers , I hope you are fine. Our lesson today is about prayer. As you know prayer is the second pillar of Islam after the testimony ,so we will speak a little about prayer and then complete tomorrow.
As-salāh(prayer) is the second pillar in Islam. It connects between one and his lord. Therefore, it is one of most honorable acts of worship.
☘️ Allah the almighty commended the Muslim to perform prayer in all conditions and circumstances, either he/she is resident, traveler, in good health or sick.
Prayer has a specific time to be performed. Any Muslim can depend on his country's calendar that refers to prayer's time.
In Islam, we must pray five times a day. Accordingly, praying these five times is a duty like other duties.
The five prayers a day:
1️⃣ the dawn(Fajr) prayer, and it is two units (rak'ah).
2️⃣ the noon(zuhr) prayer, and it is four units (rak'ah).
3️⃣ the afternoon('asr) prayer, and it is four units (rak'ah).
4️⃣ the sunset(Maghrib )prayer, and it is three units (rak'ah).
5️⃣ the evening(ishāa )prayer, and it is four units (rak'ah).
The importance of prayer:
Prayer is an appointment with Allah five times a day, in which we can talk to Allah and complain to him about our difficulties and harsh conditions.
Prayer is also a better means to live in this life since, it addresses human's spiritual side.
