♦️ Friday Prayer (Jumu‘ah)
Assalamu Alaikum, my brothers. I hope you are doing well. Today, we will talk about the Friday prayer (Jumu‘ah).
On Friday, Jumu‘ah prayer is performed instead of the Zuhr prayer.
The Friday prayer consists of two parts:
The Friday prayer is not performed at home or individually. Muslims gather at the mosque to listen to the sermon and perform the prayer together in congregation.
The Friday prayer at the mosque is obligatory for every adult Muslim man who meets the conditions that make it obligatory.
A sick person or someone who has a valid Islamic excuse is excused from attending the Friday prayer. Women are not required to attend the Friday prayer, but they are permitted to attend.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ warned against neglecting the Friday prayer. He said:
“Whoever misses three Friday prayers out of negligence, Allah will place a seal over his heart.”
1️⃣ The Friday prayer gathers Muslims together in one place on a specific day, which helps strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among them.
2️⃣ The Friday sermon aims to teach Muslims about their religion, remind them of Islam, and increase their faith.
3️⃣ The Friday sermon addresses different topics that guide Muslims regarding what they should do in their lives.
✅ Completed, praise be to Allah.
