Islam: Creed and Shari'ah

The Third Lesson 3️⃣

Islam: Creed and Shari'ah

As-salamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh (peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you), dear brothers. I hope you are well.

Today, Insha’Allah (if Allah wills), we will explain a very important principle of the religion.

Islam is fundamentally based on two main aspects: Creed (Aqidah) and Shari'ah.

➡️ Islamic Creed (Aqidah) is based on believing in what is revealed in the Qur’an and what the Prophet ﷺ informed us about.

➡️ Among the pillars of faith are: belief in Allah, His angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Last Day, and divine decree (Qadar), both its good and its bad.

We will explain these matters in detail in later lessons.

As for Shari'ah, it is the way and system that Allah has prescribed for people to regulate the relationship between a person and their Lord, as well as their relationships with others.

This includes: prayer, Zakat (obligatory charity), fasting, pilgrimage (Hajj), kindness to parents, maintaining family ties, honesty, patience, kindness, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and many other great acts of worship and noble morals.

Thus, it is clear that Islam is based on Creed and Shari'ah, both of which come from divine revelation. Creed includes the foundations and pillars of faith, while Shari'ah includes the rulings and practical teachings that guide a Muslim’s life.

After studying the lesson well, please answer the following question:
