Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. To proceed:
Islam does not contradict sound reason or established scientific knowledge. Rather, it encourages people to observe, reflect, and study the universe.
The problem arises when a person assumes that everything labeled “science” is necessarily a final and unquestionable truth, or when they learn about Islam from its opponents or from people who do not properly understand it.
True religion does not contradict truth, because the Creator of the universe is the One who revealed divine revelation.
Allah created creation for a purpose and not without meaning. Allah says:
“I did not create jinn and humans except to worship Me.”
Allah’s prior knowledge that some people would disbelieve does not mean that He forced them to disbelieve. Rather, Allah already knew what they would freely choose.
Allah gave them intellect, sent messengers, revealed scriptures, and clarified the paths of truth and falsehood. He then gave them the ability to choose.
Allah says:
“Whoever wills, let them believe; and whoever wills, let them disbelieve.”
Whoever believes benefits themselves, and whoever disbelieves bears the consequences themselves.
The true religion before Allah is one: Islam in its general meaning of submitting to Allah and worshipping Him alone.
All the prophets called people to the same fundamental truth: the worship of Allah alone. However, people later altered and changed religious teachings and invented religions and doctrines of their own, resulting in differences.
Therefore, the existence of many religions is not evidence that there is no truth. Rather, it reflects how people can depart from divine revelation.
This question is based on a mistaken assumption, because the Creator cannot Himself be a created being.
Everything that is created requires a creator. Allah, however, is the First Creator, and there was nothing before Him.
If we were to ask, “Who created Allah?” we would then have to ask, “Who created the creator of Allah?” and then, “Who created the creator of the creator?” and so on endlessly.
An infinite regress does not explain the existence of the universe. There must ultimately be a First Creator who is uncreated, and that is Allah.
Faith does not prevent sound thinking. Rather, it warns against fruitless obsessive thoughts that lead nowhere, such as logically contradictory questions.
The Qur’an commands people to observe and reflect. Allah says:
“Say, ‘Travel throughout the land and see how He originated the creation.’”
Sound reasoning is one thing, while following doubts and obsessive thoughts without knowledge is something entirely different.
The advancement of some countries in science and industry does not prove that their religious or philosophical beliefs are correct, just as the decline of some Muslim societies does not prove that Islam is false.
Muslims fell behind when they neglected the means of strength, knowledge, work, and organization—not because Islam commanded them to remain backward.
Islam encourages knowledge, work, and excellence, but many Muslims have failed to properly apply these principles.
Allah created creation for a wise purpose and as a test. He gave people intellect and the ability to choose, and He sent messengers to them. His prior knowledge does not mean that people are forced to disbelieve.
The existence of many religions results from human alteration and deviation, not from there being multiple truths. As for the question “Who created Allah?”, it is based on a false premise, because Allah is the First Creator who was never created.
Whoever wishes to protect themselves from doubts should learn their religion from authentic and reliable sources, rather than from its opponents or from websites devoted to doubt and atheism.
