All praise is due to Allah, and may peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. To proceed:
We do not know of anything in the revealed texts that prevents the jinn from seeing the angels. Rather, there is evidence indicating that this may occur in general. One of the clearest examples is what happened to Iblis on the Day of Badr when he saw the angels. As for the details of how such seeing occurs, whether it happens in every situation, or whether the angels are seen in their original form, these belong to matters of the unseen and should not be asserted without evidence.
It is established that angels can take human forms that people are able to see.
Allah Almighty says about Jibril, peace be upon him, when he came to Maryam, peace be upon her:
“Then he appeared before her in the form of a perfectly formed man.”
[Maryam: 17]
It is also established in the Sunnah that Jibril, peace be upon him, would sometimes come to the Prophet ﷺ in the form of a man.
So if human beings may see angels when they appear in visible forms, there is nothing preventing the jinn from seeing them as well if Allah wills.
One of the most important evidences in this matter is Allah’s statement:
“And when Satan made their deeds attractive to them and said, ‘No one among mankind can defeat you today, and indeed I am your protector.’ But when the two armies came within sight of one another, he turned on his heels and said, ‘Indeed, I have nothing to do with you. Indeed, I see what you do not see. Indeed, I fear Allah, and Allah is severe in punishment.’”
[Al-Anfal: 48]
A number of Qur’an commentators mentioned that Iblis saw Jibril and the angels who descended on the Day of Badr, so he fled and disassociated himself from the polytheists.
It was also reported from Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, regarding the interpretation of the verse, that when Iblis saw Jibril, peace be upon him, and the angels, he turned back and said:
“Indeed, I see what you do not see.”
This indicates that Iblis, who is from the jinn, saw the angels on that occasion.

The fact that Iblis saw the angels in one particular situation does not mean that every jinn sees angels at all times, nor does it mean that seeing angels is a permanent characteristic of the jinn.
What can be established is the possibility of such seeing occurring, because the texts indicate that it occurred in general.
As for the limits of this ability, how it occurs, and when it occurs, we have no evidence explaining these matters in detail.
The texts mentioned above do not conclusively explain the form in which Iblis saw the angels.
Therefore, we should not go beyond the revealed text and claim that he saw all the angels in the original forms in which Allah created them unless there is clear authentic evidence establishing this.
The principle in matters of the unseen is to affirm what revelation has stated and to withhold judgment about what it has not explained.
The revealed texts indicate that human beings may also see angels in different circumstances.
The disbelievers may see angels at the time of death bringing punishment.
Allah Almighty says:
“If only you could see when the angels take the souls of those who disbelieved, striking their faces and their backs.”
[Al-Anfal: 50]
And He, Glorified be He, says:
“On the Day they see the angels, there will be no good news that Day for the criminals.”
[Al-Furqan: 22]
As for the believers, the angels descend upon them with glad tidings and reassurance.
Allah Almighty says:
“Indeed, those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allah,’ and then remain steadfast, the angels descend upon them, saying: ‘Do not fear and do not grieve, but receive the glad tidings of Paradise which you were promised.’”
[Fussilat: 30]
Thus, seeing angels may occur in different contexts according to what Allah wills.
This should not be done.
The jinn and angels belong to the unseen world, and each type of creature has characteristics and abilities that Allah has given it.
Therefore, it is not correct to say that because a human being cannot see a particular thing, the jinn cannot see it either, or vice versa, unless there is evidence.
The correct approach is to stop where revelation stops.
The jinn may see angels if Allah wills. The Qur’an and the interpretations transmitted from the early generations indicate that Iblis saw the angels on the Day of Badr and said: “Indeed, I see what you do not see.”
However, there is no evidence that the jinn always see angels, nor is there evidence explaining in detail how such seeing occurs or in what form the angels appear.
Because this matter belongs to the unseen, it is better to restrict ourselves to what has been authentically established and avoid speculation about details not mentioned in revelation.
