Peace be upon you, dear brothers. I hope you are doing well.
Today, Allah willing, we will learn Surah Al-Ikhlas, which consists of four verses.
Let us begin.
First, I will send the Arabic text, followed by the translation of the verse, then the audio recording, and after that, the explanation of the verse.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
﴿قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ﴾
“Say, He is Allah, the One.”
[Al-Ikhlas: 1]
Qul huwa Allahu Ahad.
This means that Allah is One and has no partner. He is unique in His essence, attributes, and actions. He alone is the true God. He has neither a wife nor a child, and there is nothing equal or comparable to Him.
﴿اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ﴾
“Allah, the Self-Sufficient, upon Whom all depend.”
[Al-Ikhlas: 2]
Allahu As-Samad.
This means that Allah is perfect in His essence and attributes. He is completely independent of all His creation, while all creatures are in need of Him. They turn to Him for their needs and depend upon Him, and all matters ultimately return to Him.
All praise is due to Allah. The lesson is complete.
I hope that we will memorize these verses well. May Allah bless you.
